Many exciting events are happening now in Stockholm and our interns Nikhil and Mathilde had a chance to visit two great wine tastings: “Barolo & Friends – wines from Piemonte” and “Oregon & Washington State Vinmässa”. Both events took place in Operaterrassen Meetings & Events, a great location with a beautiful view over the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
Mathilde and Nikhil had a great time visiting those events and they shared with us their experience:
“Barolo & Friends – wines from Piemonte”
The wine tasting was amazing! The venue was in a beautiful spot overlooking central Stockholm. We could see the river and all the old buildings in the background. There were many really interesting wines, especially a Riesling from Barolo, which I wouldn’t have expected because Barolo is usually known for red wines. What I also like is of course meeting the winemakers themselves. They explained a lot about where their grapes come from and what makes their wines special. It made me appreciate the wines so much more!

On Monday, February 19th, accompanied by Nikhil, I went to the Barolo event to attend my first wine tasting. It was my first time at this kind of event, and I loved it! We had nice meetings with many different producers, learnt about thier wines, and of course, tasted their wines. It was a very enriching experience, which helped me to learn more about wine, and to move from theory to practice 😉

“Oregon & Washington State Vinmässa”
On Wednesday, March 6th, I attended my second wine tasting “the Oregon & Washington State Vinmässa”, but this time I went alone! The tasting went very well, it was a pleasure meeting different producers, who enlightened me on the characteristics of each grape variety, on winemaking techniques and etc. It was very interesting and the atmosphere was very freindly and convivial. I loved that I had a chance to attend this second wine tasting alone because it taught me to experience it autonomously and now I feel more confident.
I will cherish the memories of these two events.
